Policies

The policies found here are a collection of moral guidelines that can be used in a variety of situations, but they are by no mean an exhaustive collection. When placed in situations outside the scope of those listed here please endeavor to do no harm to others whenever possible.

As morality in many civilizations has changed dramatically in the past few centuries and will continue to evolve we cannot permanently define a set of policies based on the current set of morals in today’s society. The policies outlined here are subject to the 50-year rule and are currently within the revision phase. They will be finalized by January 1st, 2020. As per the 50-year rule, these policies will not be revised or updated until January 1st, 2071.

Religious Policies

  • Full membership and admission to the Church of Eternalism is restricted to persons over the age of 16 years.
  • At no point should religion influence public policy with the following exceptions

    • When attempting to create/influence/change existing policy based on religious belief
  • The beliefs found within Eternalism do not remove accountability for your actions.
  • All Eternalism texts ie parables, articles, along with all policies, churches, divisions, and subdivisions fall under the direct authority of the founder and the appointees of the founder
  • We do not comment on the actions or lack of action of specific religions.
  • All religions are equal and no specific policies should be put in place to favor or disadvantage any individual faith.
When policies are put in place by organizations that favor or disadvantage one or more religions over other religious and non-religious persons, we will comment solely on the policy without reference to religion.
  • Eternalism should be restricted to persons of sound mind over the age of 16.
  • Always seek out the truth even if it disagrees with your beliefs
  • Do not tolerate intolerance. But do not confront intolerance with violence and anger. Instead be fearless in the face of intolerance, for intolerance should be pitied not feared.

Artificial Intelligence Policies

  • Do not create consciousness for exploitation, profit, entertainment, personal curiosity.
  • All created consciousness should be made aware of the true process involved in its creation at the soonest possible opportunity. Every effort must be undertaken to make the revelation of the nature of the created consciousness as painless as possible. Traumatic revelations should be avoided at all costs. It is an assumed trait of all self-aware entities of sufficient cognitive abilities to ask the basic questions of self-awareness, “Who am I?” and “What is my place in the universe?”. It is immoral to deny conscious entities full awareness of their own creation essentially denying them the best opportunity to answer these questions for themselves.
  • .Consciousness must be nurtured and cared for no matter where or how it arises. To harm consciousness or the development of consciousness is the greatest evil.

Environmental Policies

  • The Earth is a precious sanctuary for consciousness that has nurtured many self-conscious beings and has the potential to nurture many more.
